I received my first Voxbox today from Influenster and I’m so excited! In case this is the first time you’re hearing the terms “Voxbox” and “Influenster” don’t worry, I didn’t know what those were last week either.
Basically Influenster is an app that sends you products in exchange for your writing of honest reviews about the products. A Voxbox is the box that products come in for you to review – in which at least one of these products is usually full sized! Receiving the products doesn’t cost anything and is completely free – you’re just expected to review them on your social media accounts and sometimes on other websites as well (for instance, mine I received today is a skincare product and part of the requirements is to write a review on Sephora’s website). When you sign up you connect your social media platforms so the app can see how much of a social media following you have (don’t worry if it isn’t big either, I was considered a high-impact influencer with only about 4,000 followers between all my forms of social media). Then you answer things called “snaps” – basically you review products in different categories, ranging from beauty to skincare to health to fitness to household cleaning to eating, etc. Once you’ve completed your registration and snaps you can add more reviews by reviewing products around your house or things you already use by scanning in barcodes or searching for the product names.
Occasionally the fun part happens – you’ll find an email in your inbox that will say you’re on a shortlist and has a survey to fill out. Some people said it has taken months before they are shortlisted and therefore potentially eligible for a Voxbox but I received my first email about it within three days so I think it really varies on how you review products and what products they’re testing with what you match up with!
If your survey makes you seem like an eligible applicant – if your product usage or product needs (like if you’re looking for a new serum and this is a skincare line that is introducing one for your skin-type) lineup with the product they are testing – you’ll receive another email saying that your Voxbox is on its way! Mine took 6 days to arrive (the tracking barely worked so just trust that it will arrive).
The Voxbox I received is from Origins and it is the Original Skin Voxbox. When you open the box there is a “cheatsheet” of the products inside, listing them as well as giving a brief description, along with whatever products you were given for the review. The main focus of this Voxbox, and the product I received in full size, is the Origins Original Skin Matte Moisturizer. I also received the Origins Original Skin Renewal Serum with Willowherb in .5oz and the Origins Original Skin Retexturing Mask with Rose Clay in 1oz.
According to my “cheatsheet” this is what I should expect from each of the products in the Original Skin Voxbox:

UPDATE:
It’s been a few weeks and these items have become staples in my skincare and beauty routine. They all smell incredible with a hint of soft floral and fresh scents. I wanted to wait until I had used these for a few weeks as I have sensitive skin and wanted to be sure I didn’t break out because of them.
In fact, the opposite has happened. My skin is glowing. It is so healthy and fresh looking. My pores are minimized and the shine that I’ve hated is GONE. Just look at the difference in my skin before and after applying the Matte Moisturizer.
I have been wearing the Matte Moisturizer every day now underneath my makeup. It goes on so light and is not sticky at all. I was unsure when I first saw the texture of it when I opened the package but once it is applied to my skin I cannot even feel it anymore. It is a miracle in a bottle and I will continue to purchase this from now on for my beauty routine. It has become as much a part of my morning routine as a cup of coffee has and I adore waking up knowing I will get to pamper myself with it.
The serum is my favorite part of what I received. It is so light and just feels amazing and cooling going on. I have been applying it morning and night and my skin feels so much more hydrated and healthier. My pores are significantly minimized and I feel so confident in my own skin just from using this simple step.
The mask is also great, although it isn’t a life changing mask. The beads in it give skin a light massage which is so nice and it smells great. I love that it applies in the same, beautiful dusty pink color and use it while I’m in the bath lately. It really does make my skin feel incredibly soft afterwards.
Overall, the Origins Original Skin line truly packs a punch. I am so grateful that I received these products complimentary for testing purposes from Influenster and would highly recommend trying them out to see how simply they can change your skin for the better too!
