Good Morning and Happy Friday! It’s November 3, which means Halloween, though fun and spooky, is over for the year. My life has done a quick 180, going from pumpkin everything to my absolute favorite time of year Christmas!
Usually, I wait until after Thanksgiving to get into the holiday spirit, but I walked into my favorite local home shop and cafe yesterday, Gum Tree Hermosa Beach, to find that they had already decorated to look like a winter wonderland. Ornaments were hanging, sea glass trees adorning the shelves, twinkling lights, but the BEST part of all? The scent. Flickering on the counter, the shop was burning the Thyme’s Frasier Fir Candle, and though small and dainty, this candle has a magical scent that brings the ambiance of the holiday season to life. Last year I walked in and fell in love with this scent and how the purchase gives back (learn more later in this post) and bought a bunch for myself and family and friends. I am so happy that it is that time of year again.
Now I am home, cozied up with this cute little Meri Meri cushion reindeer I got today at Gum Tree, burning what is left of the Thymes Frasier Fir candle I have from last year, and writing this blog because I really just could not resist sharing how amazing this company really is with you all.
These candles make you feel as though you are smack dab in the middle of the most peaceful forest to exist. The smell brings me back to Christmas in New Hampshire, where I grew up and still go back to every holiday season, surrounded by loved ones and fresh cut Christmas trees from local farms.
Have I mentioned how gorgeous the candles are too? They have some in white porcelain jars, some shaped as pine cones, a beautiful green glass one that I may need to get this year, and so many other options that they match any household decor. The candle I bought last year is stunning. The way the light flickers through and lights up the pine cutouts just adds to the magic of the season.
What is even better than the delicious Frasier Fir scent is that buying these candles actually DOES GOOD. Thymes has partnered with American Forests for a giveback program called Plant One Tree, where for every product purchased from the Frasier Fir Northwoods or Statement collection a tree is planted. I love this because it meant my gifts of these candles last year to loved ones meant more than just giving a candle. My home of California and many other states across the USA this year have severely suffered from the wildfires and the forests need more help than ever. If you know me at all, you know buying products that make an impact matters most, and the fact that when I buy one of these candles a tree is planted, warms my soul even more during this most giving time of year.
It is so simple to spread the word of this good deed – and who doesn’t feel even better about making a purchase when they know they have actually given back and done something good for the world as well? Now, more trees are planted, and my home smells like holiday cheer and I couldn’t be happier than Buddy the Elf seeing Santa. This year they released a hot cocoa candle line as well – that sounds delicious! I may need to add those to my shopping cart too 😉
